Roller Shutter Features/Options
Protection from Rust
Curtains are of Galvanised Zinc-coated steel Z275. All steel components, including drum assemblies, guides and brackets, are either galvanised or zinc oxide primed. All geared shutters have fully electroplated chains. Slats have been designed to be self-draining.
There are a choice of 50 colors available in the Dulux Powdercoat factory finished range. Powdercoat is over twice the thickness of the average paint film and provides maximum wear and durability for Creeks shutters.
Shutters can be pre-punched to provide ventilation for shops and car parks. Slotted slats achieve 16% maximum ventilation, whilst perforated slats achieve 40% ventilation.
Standard End Clip
Standard end-clips are fitted to every second slat in all shutters, except windlocked and fire resistant types. These moulded nylon end-clips ensure smoot, low friction operation, and can be readily replaced if damaged or worn.
Heavy duty extruded aluminium, and box section steel bottom rails are available in three profiles to suit varying applications.
Bottom Rail Weather Shield
A special heavy duty rubber seal is available for the bottom rail to seal against rain, leaves and dust.
Tapered/Special Bottom Rails
Special bottom rails can be fabricated to suit slopes, steps or any non standard opening.
Electric motors may be fitted to any shutter, and come complete with self-contained limit switches, reversing type starter, with a thermal overload switch, wall mounted control box, oil filled, heavy duty worm drive gearbox and emergency chain operation in case of power failure. Three phase or single phase motors to suit shutter size. Remote controls and card readers are readily available options.
Wicket Gates/Escape Gates
All shutters can be fitted with wicket gats on either the right hand or left hand sides and include a key operated night latch. Wicket gates open to the inside and are hinged from the side gates. Gates are 1200mm high by 600mm wide and fit into the shutter curtain 300mm up from the bottom rail.
Escape doors are special outward opening full size gates, eg 2000mm x 1000mm. Inbuilt night latch locks automatically when closed.
WICKET AND ESCAPE GATES CANNOT BE FITTED TO SHUTTERS WITH WINDLOCK GUIDES.
Windlock End Clips and Guides
For areas subject to high wind conditions, or for any very wide opening, 75 or 100mm shutters should be fitted with malleable iron windlock end-clips and steel windlock guides. Windlock clips prevent the curtain from deflecting from its guides through wind pressure.
Lift-Out or Sliding Mullions
Very wide openings can be catered for with double roller shutters, linked with removable centre mullions. Lift out, or sliding mullions, hold both shutters securely, and allow either to be operated independently.
Standard locking is provided by a guide mounted lockable chain clip for all geared shutters. For non-chain-wheel shutters, padbolt-style locking is supplied. Padbolt locking is optional on all geared shutters.
